Foreign distribution and macro stress remain dominant, while softer oil and a mildly positive indicated open create only an attempted stabilisation — not yet a regime reversal.
Oil Relief Helps — But Only Partly
Softer oil improves India’s macro transmission chain, but elevated global yields still keep the FPI hurdle rate restrictive.
Absorption Still Lacks Price Response
Heavy DII buying has not yet produced Bank Nifty leadership, stronger breadth or sustained VWAP acceptance.
The Green Open Is Not the Signal
The real test is whether institutions accept higher prices after the open, especially above 22,800 with Bank Nifty confirmation.
The global picture remains hostile primarily through bonds. U.S. long yields remain elevated while oil has eased from its recent spike.
Oil ↓ → imported inflation / current-account pressure ↓ → INR pressure ↓ → RBI constraint ↓ → Indian yields ↓ → FPI hurdle rate ↓
The improvement is useful, but not yet sufficient to reverse the macro regime.
Tuesday extended the losing streak, with Nifty finishing around 22,716. The important downside reference is now approximately 22,570, Tuesday’s low.
Tuesday’s unusual closing-auction movement should not be treated as normal price discovery.
The key question is no longer merely whether FIIs are selling.
It is: how much domestic capital is required to absorb every ₹1,000 Cr of foreign supply — and what price response does that absorption produce?
Recent sessions have shown extremely heavy DII absorption without corresponding index expansion. Institutional Absorption Efficiency therefore remains weak.
Until FII selling moderates and the same DII buying begins producing Bank Nifty leadership + improving breadth + higher VWAP acceptance, do not classify the tape as accumulation.
Yesterday’s expired option-chain map should be discarded. Rebuild the strike structure from the new series.
A strong green session caused mainly by short covering does not automatically change the institutional regime.
Bank Nifty remains the confirmation engine.
= index repair, not broad institutional accumulation.
Oil × INR × RBI liquidity remains the primary India macro transmission channel.
The evidence improves the regime from STRONGLY BEARISH toward BEARISH, but does not yet justify NEUTRAL.
Institutional Absorption Efficiency
Track ₹1,000 Cr DII buying → ΔNifty + ΔBank Nifty + Δbreadth + ΔVWAP acceptance.
If increasingly large DII buying produces progressively less downside protection, hidden institutional supply remains dominant.
If the same domestic flow suddenly produces disproportionate price expansion, seller exhaustion may have arrived.

3:15 PM continuous price → CAS indicative price → official close → next-session open.
Do not allow abnormal closing-auction prints to contaminate breakout labels, volatility features or next-day ML targets.
